This here is my Fanaloka (Malagasy Civet):








I still have to do the baby, and the sick/dirty skins.

I have other projects, but this is the one I'm trying to finish up right now.

He's such a little cutie! I love the spotty third skin :)

Hehehe! He IS cute. The third skin was the last one that I finished... it's funny how much my work tends to improve over a series of variants! XD

Very nice Gloria, ZT2 needs more animals from Viverridae. Hand drawn skins are the way to do it; thats the way BF does it for animals. Do you use a tablet?

Yes, it's an old cheapo (acecad) tablet, but it has served me well for the past 6 years or so. XD

I feel kind of bad sometimes when people manage to pull off really good photo-pasted skins and mine end up look a little more cartoony (like the original animals in the game...), but I guess this way at least I'm not risking "stealing" somebody else's art photos or anything like that, right? ;)

Not that I think there's a moral problem with using photos in skins, really... but there's an art to doing that well and many designers fail at it (if you don't mind my saying so... there are bad skins out there as well as good ones), and well... I'm one of the ones who isn't very good at it! * lol *




Anyway, thanks, guys, I'm glad you like it! I will upload the fanaloka here as soon as it's done.

The Fanaloka has been uploaded... just waiting for it to be tested now.. I HOPE I got the .dl right this time, because I think that was the problem with the other two I submitted...

Wow I've never even heard of that tablet before, but you cant beat your old trusted hardware. I have a Wacom Bamboo Tablet Fun, probably one of the most popular ones going around now. I got it for Christmas and I'm still getting the hang of it.

Honestly I feel the same way about photosourcing (the term used for using direct images and using them for textures) so dont feel like you're alone. Though many designers aren't professionals and haven't gone to school and learned about digital media. (don't get me wrong, im not a proffessional.)

Keep drawing skins from scratch, they're beautiful. Great Font BTW and I'm going to definetly download this
