Description: ye..!

Otter Lord - January 3, 2008 06:29 AM (GMT)
Ok I desided to start up and set up a project thread here. :P This forum's become quiete popular, I think someone invited me to this forum when it was just starting but I had signed up on too many forums (now dead). :>_<:

Well good news, my Giant Eland and African Civet are now availible to the general public on this site. :=B to top that off I got some new pictures of the African Civet climbing some trees.

I currently have a UXP in WIP and you can check out some of my newest info on it here at one of my older project thread. Check it out, Arm yourself with knowledge. :=3

Also check out my newest animal, one thats regarded as secretive and mysterious. It spends its day often lying in the grass. Can you guess what it is?

Whiskers - January 3, 2008 02:18 PM (GMT)
Awesome Projects! I looked at all the pics of the new UXP and the Civet and Eland. I downloaded them.

But the UXP is looking fantastic! Any Guess when we might be able to download it?

Otter Lord - January 4, 2008 11:07 PM (GMT)
I have no idea when. I'm increasing the quality of a lot of things and I have more foliage that needs to be done.

Anyway spike164uk from ZT2DC got the animal, a Maned Wolf.
Showing off some South America apprieciation...here's some pics for you guys.

Wow, these are really great! I can't wait to see more of your projects!!! :oh:

Whiskers - January 4, 2008 11:55 PM (GMT)
Me Neither, These are looking fantastic!

Otter Lord - January 5, 2008 02:56 AM (GMT)
Thanks for all the compliments.

The maned wolf also comes with some new South American foliage. The Pampas Grass and the Chilean Mesquite Tree (aka the Thornless Mesquite Tree from ZT1) Just wouldn't seem right without some more foliage.

Thats not going to stop me from releasing it or spending the 12 hours drawing its skins and another hour to do the coding and doing the plants aswell.

Its not photosourced either, its a genuine drawn skin.

What will happen?

Zoo Freak 101 - January 5, 2008 08:06 PM (GMT)
There is no limit on how many designers can create the same animal. I happen to know that Penguinman released a maned wolf after ES was released, and was the first to make one. It's up to the individual to select which animal(s) they want in their game. Depending upon the file name and other variables, you may or may not be able to have both versions in your game.

Otter Lord the civet, eland, and maned wolf are amazing. I love your attention to detail, and the long, hard hours you put in show. I can't wait to see what else comes from you.

-Pureblood- - January 19, 2008 11:37 AM (GMT)
They are niceee!

Otter Lord - February 20, 2008 05:17 AM (GMT)
Wohoo! Update time. :D My maned wolf is almost finished, I just have to redo the icon to the Chilean Mesquite Tree and wait for my Maned wolf to have babies so I can make sure the babies are working. Also, I have finished the new Chital skins, it has 6 variants (brown, orange, dark red; two different spot configuration so thats 3*2=6) It has a new model too, so here's some screens.

More Screens comming soon.

GoneWild - February 20, 2008 11:35 AM (GMT)
wow it is great. I love how you put so much time into making it perfect, with the new model and everything and didn't just settle with the reindeer model.

Realy - February 20, 2008 03:23 PM (GMT)
I love your creations! They are wonderful! You are 1 of the best designers!

Whiskers - February 20, 2008 03:28 PM (GMT)
I Agree. I have never seen a bad creation come from you.

Otter Lord - February 23, 2008 06:16 AM (GMT)
Ok two new screens for Asia Pack, I've never shown you guys my Pere David's Deer and today I gave it a new model. Also I fixed some issues with the Pallas Cat skin and gave it a new model.

http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q132/Cp.../PallasCat2.jpg

Also sorry for the delay on releasing the Maned Wolf, I'm a bit busy for now on due to baseball and an AP test comming up. I should have it up in less than two weeks.

Tiger Lily - February 23, 2008 10:54 AM (GMT)
WOW!The Pallas Cat is very good!

Gloria - February 23, 2008 04:35 PM (GMT)
Ooh! Ooh! I want a Pallas Cat! I love those guys! :D

Though personally from your screenshot I think the fur on its body could use a little more detail... make it look a little more long-haired and shaggy, you know? :)

But that model looks spot-on! XD *so excited*

P.S., http://www.biolib.cz/IMG/GAL/10521.jpg

OH MY GOSH, SO CUTE! *dies*

Great tip, I dont know why I didn't do that in the first place. :P The skin was made awhile ago though, and I don't think I had a tablet then. I'll edit the skin though I want to keep the coloration so I think I'd probally add a layer on top to make the fur stand out.

*nods* That's exactly what I would do! Aren't layers great? I try to use layers for spotted/striped animals so I can keep body shading underneath... but then I usually mess them up and end up flattening them by mistake. XD

I love layers, I use layers for everything, and then I duplicate them so I have it saved. I used to be very sloppy with my layers, now I've been naming and grouping them in folders, its great. In photoshop you can have up to 8,000 layers  , haven't gotten anywhere near that but its still great. :D

Realy - February 23, 2008 11:12 PM (GMT)
All is excelent! I cant wait for the maned wolf! An the pallas cat so beauty!

hupdo - February 24, 2008 07:06 AM (GMT)
Wow, great Palla's cat and Pere David's deer! I hope you complete the Asian pack. I think I remember it from when you were working on it at ZA (might have been different person).

Otter Lord - February 24, 2008 07:27 AM (GMT)
It probably was me, there is no one else doing any massive Asia XPs :aww: Asia Pack will be finished, don't worry  I don't plan on quiting on it anytime soon. Asia Pack is actually almost done. While I'm at I just go over some things that need to be done for Asia Pack to be finished.

Old Skins and Models changed and made better appealing
Menu Icons done the real way
Few more Fences, Scenery, and Paths made for a greater range in content
2 Siberia Animals to be made
Check Zoopedia for Bugs (zoopedias...ugh :V )

I'm thinking of adding a few bonus animals too, theres already a MM add on with a bonus animal and a fix that allows the Estuarine Crocodile to be placed in Coastal biome and swim underwater. Though I can release ZT Bonus animals after the main release and the MM bonus release. :=B

Whiskers - February 24, 2008 02:58 PM (GMT)
Awesome News Otter Lord.

I Have never seen a UXP with so much detail and thought put into it.
(Besides Artifex) I Hope everything goes well and you can release it soon cause it really does look wonderful :aww: .

Gloria - February 24, 2008 05:10 PM (GMT)
Hmm... You made a Clouded Leopard and Malayan Tapir for your pack, didn't you? They had a couple of minor bugs - the Tapir had that silly location bug where it showed the location of the last animal clicked on instead of its own, and the Clouded Leopard when clicked said it was a Malayan Tapir. *lol*

Lang files can be a pain like that.

Otter Lord - February 24, 2008 09:25 PM (GMT)
Yeah I know, thats what I mean by checking the zoopedias above. Check them over and over again and there's still a problem... I should make like a Project Testing Method, I think that'd help me and everyone.

Otter Lord - February 28, 2008 06:18 AM (GMT)
Not a really big update but I did manage to fit some work in. I expanded on my Atlantis Observation area and started a theme, so here's a small WIP preview on the new path I made. For the theme I'll make all the scernery objects. I may make some new stands if I can get manage to code some buildings.

http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q132/Cp..._theme_prev.jpg

Also I made a new AP plant. The sugar cane that goes with Indian Rhinos. Also I'm going to make a new skin and model for the indian rhino and the sal tree needs a new leaf texture too(its really really old).
