Well, so far, the animal tournament has been very exciting and along with other staff, can't wait to reveal the winners for the first round (We won't start judging until tomorrow) Of course, we still have one round to go before it officially ends but granted, we would much rather begin sign ups for the scenery tourny starting now (looking at how long it took to get 4 participants last time).

Much like the last one, here is the agreement that you should accept before
deciding to accept this challenge:

This will be a multi-member challenge. Which means there will be several members who will challenge each other at once in a tournament fashion. For those who don't know how a tournament works, here's how it is:

The [X] number of members will sign up (that number must be an even number for this to work and a minimum of 4) then will be put in pairs. Each pair will compete with each other in a normal challenge fashion, which means updating their projects under the correct forum, in this case, Scenery Challenge.
Once the pairs' time is up, the winner of the two will move up and challenge the next winning opponent and so on, until we have one standing.

We want to aim to get at least four members to join in, but we are looking to see if more interest is given in this, in which case, we could expand the number (You will sign up in this topic) The number of entrants will reflect the number of rounds we will have.

Only scenery will be created in this tournament so be sure to be familiar with creating them before signing up. We want some minimal experience with creating scenery, if you do not know how to create anything at all, please do not sign up thinking you'll learn as you go, we have a time limit to submit final entries. When signing up, please link us to some of your prior work with scenery.

Be aware that each round in the tournament is only 1-2 weeks, so you get 1-2 weeks to get an object done each time, if you don't think you can finish an object during that amount of time, only do this if you're up for that challenge. Those who show no activity after the 1 or 2 weeks will be disqualified and their opponent will move on as winner.

That said, have a happy and fun challenge to those who sign up! Make sure to recommend this to other designers in other communities ;)

I'm so totally signing up - HOWEVER...I really need to know -when- this is taking place. The 1-2 weeks per entry thing is fine for me as long as the tournament doesnt start in the next 3 weeks :P The next month is really hectic for me and I won't have time. After the New Year might be better for me :( If you can't wait that long to start the tournament, then leave me out! :)

We're actually not going to start this tourny until after New Years, a lot of the staff probably have plans over the holidays. It would only be fair to the members participating as well, but as an approximate date, more likely we will start this one off after the 13th Jan. (Most of us have finals on the first week of Jan) Hope this helps!

I think we will need at least 8 - but by jan 13 or whatever, we could have like 24 or more! That would be great!

I really think 8 should be a maximum for now, any number above that might be a little too much don't you think? Here's another thing to take into consideration, the number of entrants will reflect the number of rounds we will have. So far we have 6, being 3 rounds, 2 more and it will become 4, so four objects for eight weeks, about two months (That's only looking at the situation if you win every round and if we get 2 weeks per entry =P). Personally, I would want two weeks for each object but that's all up to animalover44 and the rest of the staff to decide now lol

Personally I'd like 1 week, so we can get the tournament done quicker and thus be able to do another. B)
Also, does foliage count as scenery?

No, this tournament is mainly based upon objects you normally find under the "scenery" folder. For the week thing, I would go along with anything as long as it's reasonable, a week is okay I guess (Anything from 1-2 weeks I would have no problem with).

Luckily, I still have a plan for when the contest starts B)

Question here, is photosourcing allowed? If we use our own photos and/or use them for layer masks is that alright? I'm thinking about joining in on the fun but I just wanted to know first.

So there is no restrictions at all on photosourcing? Ok last question and I'll make a descision, what is considered scenery? Like foliage, paths, fences, and buildings?
