Title: Shen's New Current Projects
Description: Because my old thread has gone funny :(
ShenTirag - September 16, 2007 09:05 AM (GMT)
Something bad happened to my old topic, half the posts have disappeared :( So here it is, new and alive!
Progress on the paths, now nine of genkicoll's wonderful paths are available for ZT2. :) Here are some preview images:
Amethyst, Desert Clay and Red&Tan BrickSandstone Mosaic, Shadowstone and Southwestern Wood TileWood Cross, Wooden Slat and Wood GrainThere are so many beautiful paths to choose from, so there will invariably be a few more added to this set before it is submitted :)
Animalover44 - September 16, 2007 01:32 PM (GMT)
All the paths are awesome. I don't know what happened to the other topic, I'll try to find that out if it wasn't some glitch. :)
AniSkyOkami - September 16, 2007 02:49 PM (GMT)
OMG I'M DOWNLOADING EVERYTHING YOU MAKE!!! lol
micandra - September 17, 2007 03:06 PM (GMT)
I use the sandstone one in my zt1 games alot, so I'm glad you made it into zt2.
ShenTirag - September 18, 2007 04:45 PM (GMT)
If you're a member of Zoo Tek Phoenix, you can download these paths from there now :) They will be made available at other sites at a later date ;)
AniSkyOkami - September 20, 2007 08:03 PM (GMT)
OMG really? I'll go there right now! lol jk  But great stuff Shen!
Sicilian Gorilla - October 10, 2007 08:19 PM (GMT)
Fabulous! Fabulous Fabulous Fabulous; okay, got my point across. Absoulutly wonderful ShenTirag!
ShenTirag - October 26, 2007 04:04 PM (GMT)
So EA is out here now and I can bring you some wonderful goodies soon.
I've made an Ultimate Space Hack mostly for my own purposes, but if any one else is interested I might submit it, it reduces all the space requirements for all ZT2, ES, AA, MM, EA and Artifex's Arabian Nights animals to 1x1 square. Useful for making huge zoos with mixed exhibits!
I've also made a quick little hack which lets you delete the cloning failure animals (giant bullfrog/butterfly/squirrel/spring hare), because I don't know about you but I don't really fancy a bunch of annoying undeleteable animals hanging around!
Coming soon...well hopefully a shelter or two! And probably some foliage for the EA animals...many animals don't have any foliage from the same location as them for their biome! I aim to try and remedy this as best as I can! :)

taz_uk - October 27, 2007 10:40 AM (GMT)
I would love a space hack! Funny but i have been asking for one that includes AN on anoter site. I really do hope you release it as it will make playing the game alot more enjoyable.
Just wanna take this chance to thank you for all your creations and additions to the game!
Keep up the good work!
Cocker - October 27, 2007 10:41 AM (GMT)
The plants are awesome! EA really needed some plants! And hack sounds good too!
Eriorguez - October 27, 2007 03:39 PM (GMT)
There is already a hack that does that here, though. Not for AN, but a hack.
ShenTirag - October 27, 2007 03:42 PM (GMT)
I know, but some people (like me) might not want all the extra changes you've got in yours, and I wanted to incorporate AN as well.
zooasaurus - October 27, 2007 04:58 PM (GMT)
Great work Shen, I can't wait to see what foliage you come up with
Animalover44 - October 27, 2007 05:24 PM (GMT)
The new plants are excellent!
ShenTirag - October 27, 2007 11:26 PM (GMT)

Wow, those both look great! I know I'll be downloading these when they come out!

I know it's a bit early for Rememberance Sunday but...

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
— John McCrae

Oh wow, Great Poppies and Tree! Now I feel like watching the Wizard of Oz after seeing the Poppies...
Sunny - October 30, 2007 10:52 AM (GMT)
awesome plants! good ideas! VERY good job, Shen!!!!!
zooasaurus - October 30, 2007 01:17 PM (GMT)
Amazing foliage Shen  Great idea with the poppy, so we can all remember, easier :)
ShenTirag - November 5, 2007 11:29 PM (GMT)
Two more plants for you all :)
First, the common bluebell. Did you know that the United Kingdom has over half the world's population of common bluebells? Some of the very old forests here have literal carpets of bluebells during the flowering season. These will look nice with your temperate european animals, or any other animals for that matter!
http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc222/S...s/bluebells.jpgNext, the butterfly bush, or buddleja. This plant is highly attractive to many kinds of butterflies, and is tenaciously hardy. Originally from Asia, it has spread to many areas of the world as an invasive species.

Sicilian Gorilla - November 5, 2007 11:36 PM (GMT)
I love the bluebell, I saw a bunch on my family trip to Scotland!!
Cocker - November 6, 2007 02:27 AM (GMT)
The bluebell is beautiful! The Butterfly bush is too but the bluebell really caught my eye. Blue is one of my favorite colors so I love them both!
White Rhino - November 6, 2007 02:50 AM (GMT)
I downloaded your space hack on your site and was just wondering if it works with the downloads too (black leopard, addax, asian elephant), because I love making exhibits without having to worry about the space and I use the addax and asian elephant a lot (the othre downloads would just complete it, I think.
Edit: I just tested if it does affect the downloads and as far as I can tell (after putting 5 addax in a very small pen) it works. Great work Shen! I love the plants and whatnot.
Budgielover101 - November 6, 2007 06:18 AM (GMT)
I love all the pretty plants!!! Nice work Shen!
Sunny - November 6, 2007 07:25 AM (GMT)
pretty flowers! I like them so much!  :woot: :<3: :cheer: :cheer: :do the wave: yay when will they be ready to download???
ShenTirag - November 6, 2007 09:52 AM (GMT)
Thanks guys! :) And they'll be ready for download when I finish making enough foliage for all the EA biome/location combinations that didn't have any! (As well as some other bits and pieces!)
Cocker - November 6, 2007 10:27 AM (GMT)
Where is the link to your site? I went to it the other day but can't seem to find it now  .
Spinoboy - November 6, 2007 12:59 PM (GMT)
Well, there was no TRF North American plants, Blue Fang didn't get their facts right...
Panda King - November 6, 2007 04:51 PM (GMT)
Thismay seem odd, but Shen, is it possible to add an emitter to the butterfly bush so that it will occasionally create butterfly ambients?
ShenTirag - November 6, 2007 05:19 PM (GMT)
It is potentially possible but I think it would look a bit bizarre to have more than one buddleja plant together if they'd all emmit butterflies.
Panda King - November 6, 2007 06:38 PM (GMT)
Prehaps make on a seperate type then?
I dunno, it was an idea.
I have a bunch of these in my back yard, and monarchs LOVE them.
ShenTirag - November 8, 2007 12:35 AM (GMT)
Now the protarchaeopteryx has some Asian wetlands plants to keep it company! :)
http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc222/S...ianwetlands.jpgThe sacred lotus and the kaki persimmon will provide plenty of shade for these little guys as well as colour for your zoos. Here's a closer look at the llotus:

Here's another, a TRF cycad for the American animals: the coontie!

laura_vicious - November 8, 2007 10:21 PM (GMT)
Will the plants work with all the expansions? Or only EA? They are absolutely beautiful btw!
Cocker - November 22, 2007 02:32 AM (GMT)
Cycad is awesome! Do you have a link to your site? I can't seem to find it...
zooasaurus - November 22, 2007 04:06 AM (GMT)
Amazing work! I was making a coontie, but not only did you beat me too it, you did a better job too
And could you provide a link to your site, I wanna see what's up for download!
