Well, it was about time for a tournament event to start up! Here's what we will be doing!:

This will be a multi-member challenge. Which means there will be several members who will challenge each other at once in a tournament fashion. For those who don't know how a tournament works, here's how it is:

The said number of members will sign up (usually that number will be an even number) then will be put in pairs. Each pair will compete with each other in a normal challenge fashion, which means updating their projects under the correct forum, in this case, Animal Challenge.
Once the pairs' time is up, the winner of the two will move up and challenge the next winning opponent and so on, until we have one standing.

Only a limited number of members will be allowed to sign up, this number will be eight (or less) so be sure to be one of the first ones to click that reply button! (You will sign up in this topic)

Only animals will be created in this tournament so be sure to be familiar with creating them before signing up. For those who don't know how, no worries, we will keep having these tournaments each with a different category, next time might be variants.

Be aware that each round in the tournament is only two weeks, so you get two weeks to get an animal done each time, if you don't think you can finish an animal during that amount of time, only do this if you're up for that challenge. (yet, we can bend this rule a bit if needed) Those who show no activity after the two weeks will be disqualified and their opponent will move on as winner. (like the last rule, there can be exceptions if needed)

That said, have a happy and fun challenge to those who sign up and make it! Make sure to recommend this to other designers in other communities ;) For our staff members, lets say we'll be having one for ourselves later on =P

well the whole point of the tourny is to compete with fullly finished animals XD
i hope theyre finsihed
if not, i suppose we'd extend the due date or judge the unfinished animals

BTW, are there like different categories, or do the designers just decide the "rules" (like whether or not the animal can be extinct, etc) themselves?

Most likely, yes. We want all the participants to have a fair and equal shot at this, if that means a shared theme, then we will do that. We're still planning a little bit more on this though so by the time there are enough contestants, we'll let you all in on the ground rules for the first round ;)
