The age limits mean "not recomended for people under the age of __", not "Prohibited for people under the age of __". The exception might be New York, banning M (Not recomended for people under the age of 17) games to underage people...

I played that game before when I visited my sister's friends house bfore, I would usually play jigglypuff or pikachu, sometimes I played kirby and yoshi, too.

Lucky for me, I'm not in N.Y., I'm in New Jersey (the Garden State) But, for some odd reason, rated M games don't appeal to me, even if there is no gore or anything like that. I'm 12 so, I have a reason. lol

Anyway, back on topic, I own Melee since Xmas 04, and I'm pretty good with it. I usually use Mewtwo, Ganondorf or Marth, but I'm pretty good with Jigglypuff (Rest IS a good move, but only if it connects) and Fox.

I saw the game before, played at my friend's house and I usually play mewtwo, link, or fox.

I own this game (Melee) and I can pretty much say this game has nothing to do with a rated T game despite that it is in fact rated as so lol True about the E+10 thing. I've had this game since it came out and I can't believe I'm still fond of playing it O_o usually I play as Falco or Fox since I believe Falco is the best at doing high jumps and coming down with a fast kick, along with Fox being one of the fastest players which comes as an advantage.

Fox and Falco. They are consireded the best characters in the game pro-playing wise. They'll give a boost to your reflexes, too.

BTW, I'm gonna tell you 2 interesting things:

1. http://smashbros.com . Daily updates about Brawl.

2. You know how to airdodge, right? (If not, L/R in midair, directionable with the analgo stick). Well, choose Luigi, and try to dodge to the ground just when you are leaving the ground for a jump or just when you are about to land. Surprising results, eh? This works with any character, but is more noticeable with the ones with less traction (Luigi, Mewtwo or the Ice Climbers).

HOMG!!! I thought that only nintendo Characters can be in any of the SSB games. (newsflash: Link has a cool new look/I got Melee a few weeks ago, sad, i know.. lol :lol: )

My most used charatcer is Link (obviosly) and Fox (another obvious) but they both kick butt! lolzzzz :lol:

Well, now that Sonic got in, Ridley from the Metroid series is my most wanted character, followed by Black Shadow from the F-Zero series.

Also, Link is pretty overrated by novice players, I'd suggest you to switch to Marth. Still, remember, Down+A in the air is lethal.

This alone is enough to make anybody buy the game.

Now that Nintendo opened the game up to other characters like Sonic (whom I love) and Snake, I think they should add MegaMan. However, I never liked the idea of adding non-Nintendo characters in the game, but since they've already done it, MegaMan should be added. We'll have to see how it's like with non-Nintendo charcters, though I don't have a Wii. So far I favor SSBM, which has more characters...

This game is fully compatible with the GC controller, so you'll have no problem.

Non Ninty characters will do just fine. Because a weird italian plumber, a elf unable to speak, an electric rat, and a puffbal with a great digestive system are as dispar as a mercenary and a blue antropomorphic hedgehog.

Some of the new characters don't seem great, which is why I still prefer SSBM. First, the good new characters: Pit, MetaKnight, and King DeDeDe.
Debatable/Ok Characters: Sonic and Snake (not officially Nintendo); Ike (I prefer Marth and/or Roy over Ike), Diddy Kong (King K. Rool would have been better from the DK series), Lucas (where's Ness? I prefer Ness, the original)
Bad Characters: Wario (probably the worst addition ever...), Pokemon Trainer (looked cool at first, but the concept doesn't seem so great now that I've thought about it).
Characters That Don't Really Matter: Zero-Suit Samus (it's practically the same as Samus)

So I'm really only impressed with three new characters (and MetaKnight doesn't even look so cool, but he's a new addition that seems ok and is a villian if I'm correct), the others I don't care so much. I'm eager to see what Sonic is like, but no matter how you say it, this isn't his game. He doesn't belong here. Adding Sonic takes away from Mario in my opinion. Snake also doesn't belong, but Sonic by far should not be in the game...

How about Game and Watch, Captain Falcon, Ness, Jigglypuff, Mewtwo, Marth and Roy, and all the others? If they aren't in this game, I don't think it's worth it, because a lot of these guys are better additions than the newcomers in my opinion. And they deserve a spot before Sonic does (and you are hearing this from a great Sonic fan, greater than a Mario fan). So far I prefer Melee so far, but I'll have to play it to actually find out.

Fans would be outraged and would go into protest if they didn't include diddy kong. He was the most requested character. There is nothing wrong with having diddy kong AND K rool.

Same applies for Wario... He has become so famous now, it would be insane not to include him.

Only Marth or Roy, we can't have both.

Well, I'm just saying I don't think these guys fit in the game so well. I'm sure the game will be good, but better than Melee? As I haven't played it yet, we'll have to see. Also, about Lucas replacing Ness:

Ok so Ness was in 64 and Melee. I don't know why nintendo chose to include him though. Why? because the mother game taht they are using for the smash bros series is earthbound, and lucas was the main character. He had a MUCH MUCH bigger fanbase, and they actually were intending to replace Ness with him in melee.
Besides Lucas is almost exactly like Ness with a few attack changes. Now the PK flash move which really didn't do much is replaced by a cool freezing move. Lucas is better IMO.

Diddy is not a lame character, he was the most requested character and is probably the 2nd most popular and famous character in the DK series the 1st being, of course DK himself. There is nothing wrong with having Diddy and K rool.

Sonic and mario...
Sonic was one of the most requested characters too. They were going to include thrid party characters in melee, but when the idea was suggested but they were aready too far in the production. So they were going to include them in brawl. And Sakurai had every right to use them. The Konami guy (I forget his name) BEGGED for Sakurai to add Snake to melee. Also, it adds to the variety. Considering the other characters used, sonic fits in just fine. The game doesn't have to be nintendo purist. Many MANY fans would be angered at that. If you don't like it, just stick with melee

Well, I always share my opinions at gamefaqs whether people like it or not (different views are what makes the world go round). I didn't mean to be offending, I have a right to share my opinion, and I expected everyone to turn against me...

I think Wario looks the most pathetic, and fits in the least (he's on some weird vehicle thing). Ike does not seem as cool as Marth. About Diddy Kong: he just does not seem like he is needed. He just looks basically like a smaller version of DK, not such a great addition. I hope K. Rool is in this game, or I'll be disappointed. Ness was the original Mother character in 64 and Melee, so why should he lose his position now? That's not fair in my opinion, the same reason why Snake and Sonic get in the game over other Nintendo characters. Sonic is my hero, even better than Mario, but people are now like "Sonic, sonic" when the game isn't even about him, let alone his franchise.

The more characters, the merrier. At least, they are ORIGINAL characters, not like Dr. Mario or Young Link.

Ness was intended to be gone for Melee. You must realize that is unlikely to return, but, if he does, it is good.

No character is meant to "fit", as there is not a fitting pattern. Plus, Wario owns, and more in his jumpsuit, that has been revealed today on the Dojo.

DK needs more characters, and Diddy is in. He was requested, and appeared in the very first modern Donkey Kong game. In fact, he has been playable more times that Donkey Kong in the DKC series.

And you don't flame a trolling, you just prove his points wrong without losing your composture, and you report him.

But lucas was the original mother chrarcter in general. God knows why they put Ness instead of Lucas in any of the smash bros games. It should've been lucas in the first place!
